Welcome to The ME Show with Gary Burgess

Season Two of The ME Show will begin on Monday, 28th January.

Gary will begin the season interviewing Dr Charles Shepherd who provides an update on M.E. research, the NICE guideline review and the important patient surveys that you can help with. There is a note of cautious optimism about the developments taking place in the world of M.E.

Then we will move on to podcasts featuring:

  • Dr Nina Muirhead – who is using her personal experience of M.E. and professional experience as a doctor and surgeon to raise awareness and improve medical student education,
  • Dr Nigel Speight – who has worked tirelessly over many years helping parents and young people with M.E. to obtain a fair deal from medical and education authorities,
  • Linda Tannenbaum – CEO from the Open Medicine Foundation (OMF) in America who are funding M.E. research.

This new season will comprise 10 podcasts in total and has been produced with support from the ME Association. It will look at all things M.E. – from people living with the disease, to those caring for them, to clinicians, researchers, and others who are working to raise awareness and understanding.

The ME Show will feature interviews with patients, carers and advocates as well as clinicians, scientists and notable guests. You can listen to the teaser/trailer for Season Two below, or catch-up with some of the podcasts from Season One.

“Fantastic show Gary, thanks. Excellent guests and the show gives a invaluable insight into what’s happening in the ‘world of ME’… essential listening for patients, their families and medical professionals alike. Keep up the good work and thanks again!”

“A good clear and interesting podcast for ME/CFS sufferers, carers, friends and family members. Great to be able to listen rather than read information.”
