The ME Association and WAMES (the Welsh Association for ME and CFS Support) will be teaming up at an ‘ME Question Time’ in Cardiff on Saturday, October 23. Joining the panel in Committee Room 3 at County Hall, Atlantic Wharf, will be consultant paediatrician Dr Nigel Speight, executive director of the Young ME Sufferers Trust Jane Colby, MEA medical adviser Dr Charles Shepherd; our chairman Neil Riley, Jan Russell from WAMES and ME-specialist dietitian Sue Luscombe. An invitation has also been sent to the Wales Assembly Government to field a speaker about the recent publication of Health Minister Edwina Hart's 'Task and Finish Group report on future pathways for an ME/CFS service in Wales - but details of a speaker have not yet been confirmed. The meeting itself starts at 2pm but because people will have to park and then walk to County Hall, and then perhaps queue for the lift to the committee room, they should aim to arrive by 1.45pm at the latest. The meeting will finish by 4.30pm. Refreshments will be available in the interval. Admission will be free of charge but people wishing to attend are asked to make contact with WAMES in advance so WAMES can sort out the numbers for catering purposes.
