NHS SPECIALIST SERVICES IN NORTHERN IRELAND

Northern Ireland's only specialist NHS service for people with ME/CFS at Windsor House, Belfast City Hospital, closed in July 2009, when the clinical lead – who did the work on a voluntary basis – decided to retire. There are at present no plans to replace it – although the Northern Ireland ME Association is lobbying for the needs of the province's 7,000 people with the illness to be met.
