Although physically based within the RLHS, it is not a homeopathic service but offers all interventions recommended by the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence in their ME/CFS Guideline – including consultant physician assessment, activity management, exercise and psychological interventions including medical hypnosis, autogenic training and CBT. Clinical lead: Dr Saul Berkovitz. The team consists of three consultant physicians, a senior nurse practitioner, occupational therapist, physiotherapist and dietitian. The team also can advise on appropriate complementary medicine interventions and, in some cases, provide them – such as acupuncture for chronic widespread muscle pain. Buckinghamshire

[Clinical lead: Dr John Pimm, consultant clinical psychologist.. Interdisciplinary service offering cognitive behaviour therapy, graded exercise therapy and self-management programmes looking at physical, practical and psychological strategies for managing ME/CFS. The service has been running for 10 years. The team is in the process of setting up an in-patient service for people with moderate to severe symptoms. Referrals need to come through a medical practitioner or allied health professional e.g. GPs, hospital consultants, physiotherapists. If people live outside the area then out-of-area funding needs to be applied for.]

You need JavaScript enabled to view it The service offers an outpatient and community-based service for patients suspected of having CFS/ME, providing diagnosis, assessment, and a clinical management plan to enable long-term rehabilitation, sharing care with the GP and returning the patient to primary care following re-enablement. The team comprises a clinical immunologist, a GPwSI, a consultant clinical psychologist, four occupational therapists and a clinical secretary/administrator.
Services for children: There is a separate service for children and young people affected, run within paediatrics, up to the age of 18. Transition is managed jointly.

This service offers a consultant assessment for diagnosis, and therapy services including Graded Exercise, Pacing and Activity Management and CBT. These sessions are available at Colchester Primary Care Centre, Broomfield Hospital in Chelmsford and at the Tyrell's Centre in Benfleet.
Access to the service is via GP referral.

The service provides county-wide diagnosis, treatment (time-limited), information and support for adults with mild/moderate ME/CFS. A clinic is held both at Fairways House and on the Isle of Wight. Occupational therapy-led specialist lifestyle management groups are offered at various places around the county, once a diagnosis has been established/confirmed. The Chronic Fatigue Syndrome service offers treatment programmes for people diagnosed with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome or Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (ME).  This is a community-based service for adults aged 16 years and over.  The team consists of a Specialist Practitioner and an Occupational Therapist.  The service offers assessments to help GPs confirm diagnosis and treatment programmes aim to improve the self-management of symptoms, increase functioning and improve quality of life.
