Walk the distance, make a difference! Walk for M.E. on ME Awareness Day!
The ME Association is teaming up with Just Walk to offer this unique opportunity to walk for M.E. on the 12th May, which is ME Awareness Day.
The fun takes place at Goodwood Racecourse in West Sussex. It’s an open event that inspires you to take on a challenge that is right for you, with route distances of 10km, 25km, 35km, 45km and the BIG 60km!
All of the routes are circular and they are in the stunning West Sussex countryside with many of the routes having sections on the famous South Downs Way National Trail. The 10km and 25km routes are particularly family friendly for those that are able.
The ME Association is one of the few national charities taking part in this event. The event works well for us as, once you pay the registration fee, everything (anything) you fundraise can come directly to us.
If you want more information, do please have a look at the inspiring video above and information on the Just Walk website. We’d love there to be a sea of ME Association T-shirts on the day.
If you think your family, friends or work colleagues might like to join you, then Just Walk offers great group discounts for 10 people or more. For more information about booking or the event itself, please contact Just Walk HQ at email@example.com.
If you would like to give it a go, you can book directly onto the event via the website: www.just-walk.co.uk where you can also find lots of information about the day.
Once you’ve registered as a walker for the ME Association just get in touch with our fundraiser Helen Hyland (via email or telephone: 01280 838964) for support and fundraising supplies.
Thank you for thinking of the ME Association.
We look forward to hearing from you.
ME Awareness Week
This is the week that everyone raises awareness of M.E. by telling the world that it is real and physical. It is a great time for our community to let others know that we will never be forgotten – to champion the cause of M.E. and highlight current concerns.
It is a great time for our community to let others know that we will never be forgotten – to champion the cause of M.E. and highlight current concerns.
Awareness Week was established by patient advocates and is focused around ME Awareness Day, May 12th, the birthday of Florence Nightingale, who was believed to have suffered with M.E.
ME Awareness Week will run from Monday, 7th to Sunday, 13th May, 2018
Stay tuned for further planned activities from the ME Association, or create your own events and let us help you organise and promote them. You can find more ideas for awareness-raising activities on our website.
