Carlisle group hear tales of hope

Most children with ME get better  – even though recent research shows that tots as young as two years old can be affected by the illness, the founder chairman of a national ME children's charity told a meeting in Carlisle on Saturday.

Jill Moss, from the Milton Keynes-based Association of Young People with ME, was in Carlisle with the city's ME Support Group to promote her new book "A Ray of Hope", which discusses ways in which children can be helped to manage the condition better.

The group was joined in Wigton Road Methodist Church Hall by visitors from Morecambe Bay ME Group and ME North East.

Linda Danielis, Carlisle group treasurer, commented: "Jill's wonderfullly clear delivery style and well-prepared talk was easily understood. It was a thrill for members to have a national speaker who was managing her own life so effectively – having been forced to give up her teaching career due to ME."
