ME Observatory - recruitment of people from minority ethnic backgrounds to help with research study

Following a meeting of the ME Observatory Steering Group on Friday 11 January the ME Association and Action for ME are circulating this announcement, which relates to the need to recruit some more people from minority ethnic backgrounds to take part in one of their research studies.

We would be grateful if local groups, in particular, could alert their members to this announcement.

"ANNOUNCEMENT FROM THE ME OBSERVATORY

Do you have ME/CFS and live in England ?

Are you from Asian, Black, Eastern or Central European, Portuguese or other minority ethnic background?

If yes, would you like to tell our researchers about your experiences and needs from health and social services?

The CFS/ME Observatory is a research collaboration between 3 university research teams and Action for ME, which is being funded by the Big Lottery Fund.

The aim is to help plan services to meet the needs of people with ME/CFS.

We need to interview people 18 years and older in England with many different experiences and backgrounds. We have already interviewed various people and would like to include more.

Please get in touch if you are from Asian, Black, Eastern or Central European, Portuguese or other minority ethnic background.

Our team includes researchers from various ethnic backgrounds. An interpreter will be provided if needed. Interviews can be conducted in your home or some other convenient place.
