Anna Hemmings, who was told she might never race again when she was diagnosed with chronic fatigue syndrome in 2005, has been nominated for the 2007 BBC London Sports Personality of the Year. The Surrey 30-year-old is Britain's leading female marathon canoeist, a six-times world champion and has nine world and European gold medals to her name. She is often dubbed canoeing's Paul Radcliffe. |
