I am a social worker and currently work with a 43 year old man diagnosed with ME. We are looking to obtain a powered outdoor wheelchair to enable him to access the community. He does not fit the criteria for a wheelchair from Health as he is physically able to walk but the fatigue and unpredictability of his condition basically confine him to his house. I wondered if you were aware of any charitable organisations/grants I could apply to on his behalf who are sympathetic to the specific challenges presented by ME and the restrictions it imposes on the individual's life? Any assistance would be gratefully received and thanks for your help. |
