Children out-reach worker plan for Dorset
Dorset ME Support Group, one of  the UK’s largest local groups, has been awarded a BCC Children in Need grant. The money will be spent on an outreach worker to provide support and advocacy for children and young people with ME.

The grant is worth £42,886, spread over three years. In their bid for the grant, the group said children with ME are disadvantages both because of their illness but also because of lack of contact with their peer group. This combination can lead to depression, lack of self-esteem and confidence.

The money comes from the BBC Children in Need appeal last November, which so far has raised £32,434,944 to help make a difference to the lives if disadvantaged children and young people throughout the UK. Almost £17m of this money is being distributed this week.
