Special double feature on ME as Radio Scotland explored one of the most misunderstood and controversial of diseases – ME.
Wednesday, July 27. At 11.00-11.30, Give Me a Voice has Ciara MacLaverty as the main 'subject', recounting aspects of her 20 year experience of the illness, and her "long battle with the public's misunderstanding of it". This programme will be repeated on Saturday 30th at 06.00-06.30. Following on from Ciara MacLaverty's experiences, Cathy MacDonald reveals the cutting edge research aimed at finding a cure for ME in 'Medical Matters". Tackling the difficult nature of the disease head on, she explores the widespread conceptions about it and some of the alternative therapies which have proved helpful for some sufferers.
