Death of Mrs Christine Llewellyn

Yesterday evening, I learned that former MEA Chairman, Christine Llewellyn, died on Tuesday from acute heart failure.

Christine's daughter, Beth, suffers from ME and Christine was her carer.  Beth was in America at the time visiting family members, but she has now returned to Wales.

Beth and her brother, Christopher, have requested family flowers only at her funeral, but have asked that any donations in their Mother's memory be made to The ME Association in recognition of all she did so passionately to raise awareness of the illness to help people with ME.

I am sure that you will all join with me, the Trustees, other Staff and Volunteers at The ME Association in extending our deepest sympathy to Beth, to Christoper and to Betty Owens, Christine's elderly Mother.

Beth Llewellyn, Christine's daughter, would like to thank everyone who has passed on kind messages of support following the sudden and unexpected death of her mum.

She hopes everyone will understand if she doesn't reply individually at the moment.

Beth also wanted people to know that "Mum thought the world of everyone of you" who is struggling with this wretched illness.

Christine's funeral took place in Wales on Wednesday afternoon. The MEA was represented by Gill Briody.
