The ME Association have responded to Dr Mark Porter's 'Medical Notes' column in the London Evening Standard on November in which he welcomed the inclusion of cognitive behaviour therapy as a treatment for ME/CFS in the clinical guideline on ME/CFS, which was recently published by the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE).

The British Psychological Society has criticised the recommendations outlined in NICE guidelines for Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS), ahead of judicial review which is due to begin this week.

Anna Hemmings, who was told she might never race again when she was diagnosed with chronic fatigue syndrome in 2005, has been nominated for the 2007 BBC London Sports Personality of the Year.

Multi-award winning stand-up comedian and TV show creator Ricky Gervais came up with a kind of apology for making people with ME the butt of one of his routines in an interview with the Scottish 'Sunday Herald' at the weekend.

Buckingham MP John Bercow, who is a patron of The ME Association, has entered the ballot for an adjournment debate on ME/CFS to be held in the House of Commons in the week beginning November 19. If he is successful, the motion will force an appearance by a Government minister to reply to the debate.
