#MillionsMissing protest sponsored by the #MEAction network. To raise awareness of ME and the devastating impact it has on tens of thousands of people in Scotland. We are calling on the Scottish Government and NHSScotland to fund biomedical research into ME and to commit to the education of healthcare professionals about ME. #MissingMillions: A Global Day of Protest for M.E./CFS. Members of ME Support Isle of Man). making a display of 100 pairs of shoes leading up the spiral staircase in the Legislative Buildings. We ask members, family and friends to bring pairs of shoes to include in the display. Each empty pair of shoes represents someone suffering from ME, or a family member affected by ME, who is missing out on normal life because of the disease.
Please bring the shoes at 12.00, and collect them at 2.00pm.
Each pair of shoes will have a card attached. You may choose to:
* Write your name on the card
* Write a personal sentence about the effect ME has had on your life
* Leave the card anonymous.
If you are not able to come in person, but wish to have your name represented, or a statement included, then please send Celia Marshall the information and we will include it on a pair of otherwise anonymous shoes.
