Evelyne writes, “I can’t remember where I first heard about the easyfundraising scheme but as soon as I did, I joined up straight away. It is such an easy way of raising funds as the name suggests. I have already emailed my friends about it and posted it on Facebook.”

Easyfundraising? Yes, she’s quite right. There is such a thing!  Fundraising that doesn’t involve you in months of training for strenuous marathons, or preparations for a busy event.

Nor will it cost you anything. You are not put under any pressure to “Text £5 to save a life!” or donate to this, that, of the other. All it takes is just a few extra seconds of your time.

The basis is simple. Its tailor-made for anyone who shops online, whether it be for groceries, holidays, hire cars, flights –  or Christmas presents! Yes, I’m sorry to mention it, but it is fast approaching whether we like it or not.

Simply sign up for ‘easyfundraising’ and then when you click through to your favourite shopping sites, you’ll be prompted to activate your donation by a message, asking if you want to claim donations when you shop.

Q. But its only pennies! Why should we bother?

A. Because it all adds up. Thanks to the many generous people who have already signed up and who support the ME Association, we have already raised over £6,000!

Domino’s Pizza, Waitrose, GAME, Marks and Spencer, Amazon, Sainsbury's – to name but a few – are all popular sites amongst our supporters.

The ME Association’s own Tony Britton is a huge advocate – and tells us that he has, singlehandedly, raised over £200 so far.

Thank you to everyone who is regularly making the most of this opportunity.

If you haven’t already done so, please sign up for easyfundraising before you go online and order all those Christmas presents, or book that holiday. It won’t cost you anything more, but it will raise precious funds for the ME Association!
