From the Leek Post and Times, 22 November 2014

A support group is going from strength to strength. The ME Support Group Staffordshire Moorlands has been running since June this year and is proving popular with those affected by the condition.

The group has now set up a Facebook page as well as a website and has also planned the next 12 months of monthly meetings.

A spokesman for the group said: “We are a friendly, informal support group for anyone affected by the debilitating illness ME (myalgic encephalomyelitis, also known as chronic fatigue syndrome or CFS).

“Meetings last about two hours and light refreshments are provided, but people can just come for a short while if they don't feel like staying for the full two hours.

“Whether you are someone who has been diagnosed with ME/CFS; a relative, carer or friend; a GP or other medical professional; or someone who simply wants to know more about the illness, join our group, share information and experiences, let off steam, have a good laugh and help us to help each other cope.”

The group meet at Meerbrook Village Hall, near Leek.

The next couple of meeting dates of the ME Support Group are Wednesday, December 3, at 11am-12.30pm, and then Wednesday, January 7, at 2pm-3.30pm.
